Reflection

In just a few weeks, my highschool journey will end. Its finally here. The day we’ve all been anticipating. After 4 years of earsplitting alarm clocks, looming finals and exams, missing mechanical ballpens and invigorating group projects – it’s time for graduation.

Before you get caught up in the whirlwind of excitement and nervousness surrounding the big day, it’s good to take some time and reflect on the past four years of your life. Looking back before I was a grade 7 student, naive and afraid of entering the my first class a a freshmen student. Highschool life is journey with so much ups and downs. We gain friends, made some memories and fought with the struggles and hindrances towards success. Yet, I am thankful for this journey for high school teaches you a lot of things – academically, emotionally, socially and realistically. If you’re graduating in these next few months, take some time to reflect on what you’ve learned. You’d be surprised at what lessons you’ll keep coming back to in your future endeavors.

Highschool gave me so much memories and lessons that my heart, mind and soul will treasure forever.

My Dream, My Future

Resulta ng larawan para sa dreams

One of the amazing things we have been given as humans is the unquenchable desire to have dreams of a better life, and the ability to establish goals to live out those dreams.

While pursuing mt dreams, there will be many obstacles and hardships that will stand in my way. In this chaotic world, life is a battlefield it is either you choose to give up or you choose to stand up and strive for the best. But there is only one way for me to get where Im going. It is pursuing my dreams in life through hard word and determination. I know that most of the decisions I will make, in the next ten years will have a profound impact on me as a person and society as a whole.

Life is too short to not pursue your dreams. Someday your life will near its end and all you will be able to do is look backward. You can reflect with joy or regret. Those who dream, who set goals and act on them to live out their dreams, are those who live lives of joy and have a sense of peace when they near the end of their live.

Kannawidan Festival

Photo result for the national festival 2019

Ilocos Sur is one of the most beautiful provinces located in the northern part of Luzon. It is a province rich in culture that represents the ancient Spanish and Filipino heritage. To show and share their treasures to the whole world, the locals conceived an annual festival called the "Kannawidan Festival" that highlights these cultural traditions that the Ilocanos are proud of.

Kannawidan Festival- a celebration that lasts from the last week of January up to the first week of February. This year, this annual celebration is one of the most memorable events that the Ilocanos are proud and happy of. The main highlight for me which are the stations of each division of our province that contains and displays the trademark products of each division. This event became so helpful because each one of us gained some knowledge about the products that we Ilocanos must be proud of. Additionally, some artists from diffferent TV stations had the chance to come and entertain Ilocanos. I am one of the happiest and most satisfied because this Kannawidan Festival fed my brain with knowledge and fed my heart with happiness.
Being an Ilocano is a privelage for my province is rich in culture and traditions. With the help of Kannawidan Festival, we were able to show off to the world the beauty of our beloved Ilocos Sur.

Change: Starts With Me

Resulta ng larawan para sa change starts with me

"Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.” — Leo Tolstoy

Each one of us tend to always dream of changing the chaotic world into a peaceful one yet, little do we know that in order for the world to gain good changes, we must always start it with ourselves.

Everyone has an opinion on what is wrong with the world, yet few will do the work to improve their own lives. The cycle always run like this, many would dream about changing yet nobody tends to start it with themselves. We must always put in our minds that if you want to change the reality start it with yourself first little by little and attend to your own personal development. I can improve the world by consciously looking around and thinking, at every opportunity, How can I help? The most powerful way one can change the world isn’t simply by doing one thing, but instead is a way of life revolving around the concept of altruism.   In doing so, little improvements will follow you.

Changing the world begins with improving who we are on the inside. We each have a unique identity and our own distinct thoughts. These thoughts often propel us to act. So, by mindfully centering our thoughts in a positive direction, we can improve our actions and thus our character. We can lead change and make our world a better place if we start with ourselves

New Year, New Me

Resulta ng larawan para sa NEW YEAR new me

People have always been really hopeful in the New Year, believing that whatever terrible things happened for the last year will remain in the past. People look at the New Year as a fresh start. That is why every year, people like us tend to make their long lists of New year resolution with the tagline, "New year, new me!"

Every first day of the year, many people jump on the resolution  and think about improving themselves, and I'll admit I'm usually the first one to do the same. I always tend to tell myself that I should start my year freshly with no negativity. For this year, firstly I would like to change how I treat myself. Love yourself. Accept yourself. Forgive yourself and be good to yourself, because without you the rest of us are without a source of many wonderful things. " This is what Leo F. Buscaglia's famous phrase that taught me how important it is to love myself more than anyone else can do. I have come to reflect and realize that I became so hard on myself. That I was able to give everything to everyone while I forgot that I have myself. This tough realization was able to hit me so hard, for I have came up with the thought that during one's darkest moment, me, myself and I will always be the one to help me.

It may be cliche to say this but new year is really a fresh start for one's self to improve and to be the better version of themselves but it will be better if everyday, we always strive to make our mistakes go right and become the better version of ourselves. Everyday is a new chance, we just have to believe, hope and have faith.

The True Essence Of Christmas

Resulta ng larawan para sa Christmas

The meaning of Christmas is found in the very word itself: Cristes Maesse or “Christ’s Mass,” an Old English term for “celebration for Christ.” Beyond traditional December festivities, however, the true meaning of Christmas celebrates Jesus Christ’s birth and honors His divinity, His perfect example of charity, and the significance of His impact on the world.

The essence of Christmas is not gifts, is certainly not goodies. Not even the things that you do. Not the decoration that makes your house look good. The essence of Christmas lies in the name of almighty Lord above. For he has the power to change the World. The true essence of Christmas is spreading love not only on loved ones but also on every single person around you. Christmas for me is being with my family, eating together, bonding with each other and filling the house with joy and love. The essence of Christmas is not measured on how tall the Christmas tree is, on how bright the lanterns are, and on how many food were prepared. Thus, the essence of Christmas is found on wide smiles of family members. On how they celebrate even just in a simple way. The true essence of Christmas is having a complete family, a complete family that celebrates a memorable day with a lot of love and joy.

May this Christmas bring you and your family joy, peace and happiness in your life and gladden your heart. may you realize the deepest value and essence of this festival. stay blessed and be a blessing for others. Merry Christmas to all.

United Nations Celebration Theme 2018

Every 24th day of October, the United Nations is celebrating their United Nations Week, which runs from 20 to 26 October. As part of this celebration, In 1948, the United Nations General Assembly declared October 24 as the anniversary of the Charter of the United Nation which aims to be devoted in making known to the people of the world the aims and achievements of the United Nations and to gaining their support for its work.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the proclamation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights with the themeThe theme focuses on the importance of recalling the fundamental connection between outmost poverty and human rights, and that people living in poverty are disproportionately affected by many human rights violations. In February 1987, Joseph Wresinski, one of the first persons to highlight this direct link between human rights and extreme poverty appealed to the Human Rights Commission to examine the question of extreme poverty and human rights and eloquently captured the nexus between human rights and extreme poverty with his profound observation: “Wherever men and women are condemned to live in extreme poverty, human rights are violated. To come together to ensure that these rights be respected is our solemn duty.”

The continuation of the unending poverty, is one of the  major concerns for the United Nations and, at its 72nd session. It is important that the Third Decade’s inter-agency, system-wide plan of action to coordinate the poverty eradication efforts of the United Nations system includes an effective partnership with people living with poverty.
The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty can strongly complement such initiatives because it aims to ensure that the active participation of people living in extreme poverty and those furthest behind is a driving force in all efforts made to overcome poverty, including in the design and implementation of programmers and policies which affect them. Only by creating and nurturing a genuine partnership with people living with poverty will it be possible to build an inclusive world where all people can enjoy their full human rights and lead lives with dignity.

Our country celebrates National Teachers' Month Celebration by virtue of Proclamation No. 242 released on August 24, 2011. The celebration begins on September 5 and ends on October 5. The theme "Gurong Pilipino: Turo Mo, Kinabukasan Ko.” is the theme for the "National Teachers' Month" this year 2018. Its celebration is the one that gives  the teachers to express gratitude for their valuable contributions in providing the ultimate quality of education at all levels and in developing and cultivating the improvement of the personality of every student worldwide. In over 100 countries, various activities are being done to identify teachers' efforts to meet the needs of society that are becoming more complex, multicultural and more open to technology.

If youth are considered to be the hope of our community, the future that awaits us depends on the hands of teachers. Teachers who endure all the trials, hardships and sacrifices they are pouring out every day just to give each student a bright future. Some of these problems include: a large number of students  in every classroom, their own money is spent on some school activities, classroom supplies and furniture, as well as photocopying of test papers, handouts and other learning materials and many others that really are really affecting them, and most of all sacrificing their time with their family  just to be present in every school activities.

Therefore, it is our responsibility to give our teachers out outmost respect and gratitude because they are the ones that tend to be our bridges in fulfilling our goals and and life.

Our country Philippines is known to be one of the most susceptible countries in the world to natural disasters and climate change. With over 7,000 islands, and over 36,000 kilometers of coastline, nearly everyone – 74 percent of the population – and everywhere – 80 percent of the land area – are vulnerable to disaster, with the capital of Manila considered at “extreme risk." These scenarios caused us in getting used to more than twenty of the world's worst storms coming through every year.  Floods scourging numerous cities and communities everywhere leaving us too much trouble and sufferings.

And everytime these disasters leave us,it's time for us again to do our outmost capability to fix, to fully understand why we have to experience such things, to find some ways to make peace with loss, to find reasons to burgeon and survive, and to always look up for the things that we all need to do in terms of what we can do for assistance to other people and community reconstruction efforts that does not only takes months but rather it takes years.

As with any other of my compatriots,  I also once grieved, also made peace with the thoughts and questions why we have to suffer and  as with what other people did, I  also had to rebuild.  It is really an art that we have to learn.

We Filipinos were born, raised and taught how to continue living during the times and cycles misfortune, loss, and rebuilding. We at our best, and ablest have to find ways and means inrebuilding again our community. Everyone of us will once again note our typical "Philippine resilience and faith" in how we deal with this every year.

We can have resilience if we continue to have the faith in our minds and souls. Therefore, hand in hand everyone of us must act and be accountable.

Reflection: First Grading

Kaugnay na larawan

School is a  place to learn and to explore new things. As we all know the main goal of a school is to provide different kind of peripherals for us students to be educated and gain new applicable knowledge for our own benefits and for us  to achieve our dreams and goals in life.

Our ICT or the Information and Communications Technology has started during the first week of June. And during this short period of time, we were able to discuss different kinds of topics like: the Internet, the Internet Pioneers, the Filipinos who became the Philippines' Internet Architectures, the URL or also known as the Uniform Resource Locator. Moreover, we also tackled the 3 types of Multimedia, and etc.

But the life of a student seems to become a roller coaster. It has its own ups and downs. And as a grade 10 students which happened to handle multiple subject everyday, I myself cannot prevent myself to suffer numerous headaches and troubles that I was able to encounter each school day. One of these is, one time I wasn't able to manage my time very well that it came to the point that I wasn't able to review my lessons for the upcoming quiz. But fortunately, our teacher was able to explain it very well that I was able to remember the important details that we should always keep in mind every now and then. Another one is, I wasn't able to had enough time to cope up with the lessons and activities that I was able to miss due to my asthma attacks. But  I am very thankful to my friends who updated me with the lessons and the activities that I was able to miss and also my teacher who was good enough to understand my situation. I managed my time very well that I was able to make my blog posts at home every after my medication. Due to these struggles, I became strong and brave enough to continue and to pursue achieving my dreams and goals in life.

As the saying goes by, "The capacity to learn is a gift, the ability to learn is a skill, and the willingness to learn is a choice." Therefore, we must always keep in mind that tour chances to learn is a blessing from God. We need to learn and we need to use our gained knowledge to achieve our dreams in life.
